Desk organizer

Have you ever been in trouble because your desk is cluttered and you can't concentrate or find what you're looking for?

I thought of an item that can create your own space and margin by putting something between 「 」.
By changing the interval of「 」according to what you put in between, you can freely create a space and divide and organize it with your family.

「 」is the quotation mark used only in Japan.
Therefore, 「 」used in Japan expresses the atmosphere of Japan using zelkova, which is a Japanese tree. The front side can also be used as a pen stand, and the back side can also be used as a card stand.

How to use is up to you.
Enjoy your own space and margins!

Dream Renewal Daruma

Craft

We are living in uncertain times.
Unexpected things happen, time and time again. What can we do in such an era? Surely, we can dream little by little, and move forward step by step.
Sometimes, when things don’t go right, we can give up on our dreams. Then, we can dream a new dream right away. We can adjust our dreams depending on our circumstances.
The product we’re proposing is one that suits these times, and that gives you the courage to feel good about having a dream.

We’ve redesigned the daruma, a traditional Japanese handicraft used to pray for the achievement of a goal.
With a traditional daruma, the left eye is filled in with a wish, and once that wish is fulfilled, the right eye is filled in to complete the rite of prayer. We’ve made the entire daruma a whiteboard, making it possible to renew your dreams again and again. The eyes of the daruma are blank, as those of conventional daruma have always been.By expanding that blank space, we propose a new way to dream in this day and age.

Love Sumi

Charcoal

Charcoal is common material and people unintentionally see it in daily lives.
It has a long history and has existed in people's lives for a long time.
It is a renewable energy that returns to nature.
The charcoal , that is hardened in the process of being made,
is mindfully sharpened and polished for a certain period of time,
and when it is made into the shape of heart,
It starts to shine like a black diamond and it’s all unique itself.

In the world of confusion…
“Social Distance” has become the common word and there is also a word “間”(Pronounced as Ma, means distance).
The word “間” reminds our feelings that we have forgotten and barely remember ,
and it is the feelings that we always had it and shouldn’t forget.

“人間”(Human) , “時間”(Time), “空間”(Space)
It exists between humans and things, and It's a spaces where people care each other in which harmony is made.

Love Sumi become a charcoal fire that connect times
between humans who is cared and loved.
The charcoal fire with the shape of a heart that burns so bright gently shorten the distance of our hearts, and it helps lightning people’s smiles here and there.

I would like you to feel the warmth of it, right here, right now.

Partition

A partition using the Japanese traditional “Kumiki” technique, “Jigoku-Gumi”.
“Jigoku-Gumi” is one of the Kumiki (Japanese technique of woodworking) technique, which has been used in Japanese shrine architecture for a long time. It is a method of assembling grooved wood in a staggered manner without using nails or adhesives. It is called “Jigoku(Hell)-Gumi(Assembling)” because it is difficult to remove once assembled.
Using this technique in the concept of the structure, I considered a partition consisted of two types of members. Each member is connected in a staggered manner and is self-supporting. Depending on where you see from, the background seen through the gaps between the members changes gently, which creates an ambiguous boundary in the space. This partition can be freely expanded according to the size and application of the space.
By using two types of materials, wood and transparent acrylic, the mechanism and beauty of the structure and its detail, which are normally hidden when they are fixed together, is visualized. This is realized by the traditional manual woodwork by the Japanese shrine carpenter, and modern acrylic processing technology by 3D cutting machine, showing the traditional and modern beauty.

: Incense to Convey Times

Incense holder , Incense

A sense of ma, or space, that Japanese people have is not defined clearly but it has been thought something very important.
One ma shows some distance and another one is found in different motions.
Japanese has adapted ma in various art forms and moving methods, finding meanings in many ma, distance and time, which were of no importance.
Tokinari is a product for users to feel ma found in times by using incense and sound.
After incense is gone, fragrance still remains and the sound created by tokinari leaves allusive feelings.
Tokinari also tells ending of a time with a gentle atmosphere.

Kutoten or Punctuation Marks on a Bookshelf

Divider

Punctuation marks in Japanese can be described as symbols to visualize spaces which enable to make texts legible and easy to read: ten or comma for making texts rhythmical, kakko or parenthesis and quotation mark for indicating differences and emphasis and maru or period for concluding texts.
We would like to propose a product which organizes books on a shelf by having kutoten in them as punctuation marks can make texts easy to read.
Having kutoten on a bookshelf will not only create practical spaces but also clarify intentions of setting books, and make you enjoy organizing books.

Tsumugi Paper

Book jacket

Authors write their thoughts on manuscript papers.
For the great writers, manuscript papers are their canvas, and the pen is a part of their body.

Handwriting reveals a person’s heart and background.
The letters and the double lines made to refine are the examples.

I sense the author's heart and background to leave the words on the cover, along with the title.
It is “a communication of the hearts” beyond time.

Words written on the book jacket, the author and I(the reader),I and my future self, and I and my loved person are respectively connected.

We run a pen and write down our feelings.
For these acts, I chose this manuscript paper, which is a unique tool of Japan.
